Boutique Shopping

Do you ever get tired of wearing the same style all the time? We all have our favorite stores for clothing and accessories which for us include Nordstrom, Anthropologie, and Ann Taylor Loft. Sometimes though, it is fun to step out of the box a bit, and try something new. May and June discovered a little gem of a store and the best part- it is right in our neighborhood!

A La Mode is an elegant little boutique in the heart of downtown Arlington Heights, IL. It has been there for years, but we didn’t really take a close look at it until this summer. Our pilates studio is just down the street, and since we are already right there, we always enjoy looking at all the pretty clothes and accessories after our workout. In the past, boutiques in general always seemed to be more prevalent in the city, but now they are finding their way into most suburbs, which makes us very happy. In addition to having beautiful accessories and jewelry, you can also find good quality footwear and beautifully made clothing.

We have both made several purchases over the summer, and received a lot of compliments. Prices are reasonable too.  If you absolutely fall in love with an item, make sure you buy it, because a lot of times when an item sells out, it is gone forever. Nothing sits for a long period of time and whenever we visit, there is always something new to see (and try on).

Boutiques are great stores for purchasing gifts as well. We have both found some lovely scarves, bags, and jewelry and the store gift wraps everything so beautifully.

If you don’t have a boutique in your area, you can check out Francesca’s. Even though it is a chain, every store is different and unique. They have many locations and you can shop online too. A La Mode recently opened a sister store two doors down called Charisma. It is also lovely, with a slightly different style.

So, if you are looking for something for yourself, or want to find a gift for a special girl, check out some of the boutiques in your area and if you live near Arlington Heights, we invite you to check out A La Mode.

Have a wonderful weekend. ~ May and June
